I just tapped it into the hole, cut if off close to the wood with a jeweler's saw, filed it down and finished it with fine sandpaper, steel wool and boiled linseed oil. Bit mine turned out nice , Being the correct diameter already, cleaned out the hole in the stock , filled it 1/4 full with hot glue , inserted bullseye plug , taped around it , sawed the extending plug portion off , filed to contour , tapped further into stock , wiped off extra glue and filings , removed tape .
